A by-election to the 58th Parliament of the United Kingdom for the constituency area of Selby and Ainsty.

Labour gain from Conservatives by Keir Mather with a majority of 4,161 - 11.6% - on a turnout of 44.7%.

An electorate of 80,150, having a valid vote count of 35,807 and an invalid vote count of 69.
