Labour hold by Bridget Phillipson with a majority of 10,990 - 28.9% - on a turnout of 55.3%.
An electorate of 68,729, having a valid vote count of 38,021 and an invalid vote count of 230.

This constituency of Houghton and Sunderland South was established by the 2010-2024 boundary set for England. This election was the first held under that boundary set.
